    About the Author:

    SHANE D. DUNBAR (M.Ed., PRP-R, PAP) is a retired high school assistant principal, student council advisor, interhigh advisor, vocational director, and Agriculture (Horticulture) teacher.  He is the owner of the Parliamentary Procedure Instructional Materials Center, which develops parliamentary procedure teaching materials and sells them nation-wide. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Washington State University and his Master of Education degree from Seattle University.

     

    Mr. Dunbar has conducted over 541 parliamentary procedure workshops for 12,897 participants.  Some of the groups that he has instructed include: FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, SkillsUSA, BPA, TSA, DECA and their advisors, college student senates and their advisors, and secondary school student councils and their advisors. Other groups include: The American Institute of Bankers, Church Council members, Toastmasters, City Council members, school board members, the Washington State Association of Parliamentarians, and the Marie O’Connell Parliamentary Law Unit.

     

    He served as parliamentarian for the Washington State Interscholastic Activities Association and as a judge for the National FFA Parliamentary Procedure Career Development Event.  He also has judged the National Collegiate Parliamentary Law Contest and served as a judge for the Washington State SkillsUSA and FBLA Parliamentary Procedure competitive events (contests).  In addition, he has written examinations for the National FFA, the National Collegiate Parliamentary Law Contest, TSA, SkillsUSA, and BPA competitive events and numerous state events. 

     

    Mr. Dunbar is a member and past officer of the Washington State Association of Parliamentarians and has been certified as a Professional Registered Parliamentarian Retired by the National Association of Parliamentarians and as a Professional Accredited Parliamentarian by the Society for Agricultural Education Parliamentarians.  He was granted the Distinguished Service Award and the Honorary American FFA Degree by the National FFA Organization. As a former teacher and FFA Advisor, his parliamentary procedure teams placed first in Washington State competition twice and first and third in national competition. He is also a life member of the National FFA Alumni Association.

    The New Parliamentary Procedure Instructional Materials Center is your one stop resource for your parliamentary procedure educational needs.  The materials were developed by Shane D. Dunbar, MEd, PRP-R, PAP.  The materials are for training CTSO teams, teaching a complete unit, enrichment, independent study, and organizing and conducting meetings.
